The 10 Best 3D TVs For The Super Bowl
Super Bowl XLV was held on February 6, 2011 and for the first time in history viewers were able to watch the event in 3D. Retailers provided consumers with a wide range of Plasma 3D TVs and LED - LCD 3D-TVs. Though there are many to choose from, the best brands for watching events like the Super Bowl are Samsung, Sony, LG, Mitsubishi and Panasonic. If a consumer purchased either of these brands with 3D readiness for the Super Bowl, they were blown away by the sound and picture quality the 3D enhancements provided. According to PCMag.com, the top 5 3D TVs are Samsung PN58C8000, Sony Bravia KDL-55HX800, LG Infinia 47LX9500, Mitsubishi WD-60738 and Panasonic TC-P452GT25. In addition to PC magazine top five lists, Best-3DTV.com have five others that are exceptional as well. There is the Panasonic TC-P54VT25, the Sony XBR-52HX909, the Panasonic TC-50GT25, the Samsung PN58C680 and the LG 55LX9500.
Firstly, the Samsung PN58C8000 is a 58-inch 3D Plasma HDTV that is able to connect to the Internet and your digital camera. It is currently available on Amazon.com for $2, 297. Customers love the picture quality but is disappointed that it is not wifi ready. You would need to purchase an adapter to have this capability.
The Sony Bravia KDL-55HX800 is a 55-inch 3D ready HDTV that includes a Playstation 3 package. You can purchase it at Bestbuy.com for $2198.98. This 3D LED-LCD HDTV features Internet connection, HDMI components, and Ethernet network capabilities. It is also energy star compliant. The 3D is great but is difficult to set up.
The LG Infinia 47LX9500 is a 3D 47-inch LCD TV with HDTV. It comes with Ethernet networking, HDMI components and is energy star compliant. It has a great design but it is very expensive and requires 3D glasses that would have to be purchased separately. These glasses are pretty expensive. Besides the expense, the picture quality is amazing. This 3D ready HDTV is available at Amazon.com for $1649.
There is also the Mitsubishi WD-60738. It is the most affordable 3D-ready TV. It is a 60-inch rear projection TV with 3D image quality. Unfortunately there is no 3D support out of the box. You can get this HDTV at Amazon.com for about $1208 and at Bestbuy.com on sale for about $1000. You would need to purchase the 3D glasses to watch your events in 3D.
The Panasonic TC -P42GT25 is a 42-inch Plasma HDTV with HDMI components and Ethernet network options. It is also known as the Panasonic Viera and the price ranges between $799 and $1499 depending on the retailer. Currently you can get it at Electrozone.com for $819. It is an affordable 3D-TV with good image quality. However, it has limited web apps and only 3 HDMI ports.
The Panasonic TC-P54VT25 3D-TV belongs to the Panasonic VT25 series and is the top of the line series of 3D TVs for Panasonic in 2010 and 2011. This 54-inch Panasonic Viera is one of Panasonic's largest 3D TV and features many technological improvements. It has a 1920 by 1080 Full-HD image. The 3D images on this TV are clean and crisp. There is also Internet TV for the user to access Netflix and Skype. This is one of the most expensive 3D-TV but is among the best 3D Plasma HDTV in the world. You can purchase it at Amazon.com for $2499.
One of Sony's best 3D-TV is the 52-inch Sony XBR-52X909. It has amazing HDTV with local dimming backlit LCD. The picture quality and black levels are amazing. It can be purchased on Amazon.com for $2999. This price is only visible when the buyer adds it to the cart. Even though it has "true" local edge-lit LED backlight dimming, it comprises the ability to locally dim the backlight at certain areas. Other drawbacks is the high price and the fact that you have to purchase the 3D glasses separately.
Then there is the LG 55LX9500. It is a 55-inch 3D LED-LCD HDTV. It retails for about $2198 at Amazon.com. You can also purchase the LG 3D glasses there for about $80. It is capable of connecting to the Internet with instant access to Netflix, YouTube, Picassa and CinemaNow. It comes with a stand and two remotes. It provides an incredible 3D viewing experience but you would need to purchase the 3D glasses separately.
The Panasonic TC-P50GT25 Plasma 3D-TV is one of the most highly recommended mid range 3D-TV. It is the best value for your money. It has the same features at the Panasonic VT25 series. It has great black levels and amazing 3D viewing. There is also an Internet connection capability. This 50-inch 3D-TV is listed for $2099.95 but can be purchased at Amazon.com for about $1000. Though it is highly recommended for picture quality, there is some noise interference. The 3D glasses loses sync with the TV on occasion but is better than other 3D-TVs.
Finally, there is the Samsung PNC58C680 58-inch Plasma 3D HDTV. Amazon.com sells it for $1649. It has rich color quality and is energy star compliant. The 3D appearance is impressive. If you purchase the television at Amazon.com the TV comes with 3D glasses. The performance is great and is considered by many customers as the best 3D-TV around. 9 out 10 customers are satisfied with this 3D-TV.
The Super Bowl certainly demonstrated the capabilities of 3D viewing. However, there are other sporting events that demonstrates the capabilities of these 3D television. The 3D effects of these technologically advanced HDTVs enhances the picture quality give the viewers an unforgettable experience.
