Pioneer offers high quality plasma TVs but they all comes with a pretty steep price and you have to be prepared for this.

Panasonic on the other hand is more affordable and has a number of models worth considering. Its picture and audio quality is quite good, but unfortunately Panasonic does not have snob value. Its cost is half of a similar Pioneer model and would therefore encourage you to buy a home theatre system along with it.

Samsung is a Korean manufacturer and have established themselves in the field of plasma TVs as a leading manufacturers. They can easily compete with the more well known brands of Sony and Pioneer.

Philips, Hitachi and LG are other brands that you can consider when you are looking for plasma TVs. They are comparable with the best in terms of performance and quality. If budget is a constraint, look at Vizio or Maxent. They may not be very well known but they are slowly establishing themselves in the market with the features that they offer.
